Welcome to today's podcast!

Hi friends! Do you want to find money so you can start homesteading? We are definitely interested in learning how to get money to start our own homestead! That is why I created today's podcast.

I want to share with you our plan for getting cash so that we can build our own homestead. When considering how to start a homestead you will have to look at all the things you own that have value and consider if you would like to sell them so that you can build your small farm or homestead.

Things that you probably already own that you could sell for money to buy land:

  • Vehicles
  • Recreational Vehicles
  • House
  • Clothing
  • High End Items You Own
  • Furnature
  • Toys
  • Jewerly
  • Electronics

You may have a hard time letting some things go and that is natural! We get attached to our things as if they are people. We often find our identity in our stuff. But as Christian we look beyond that materialistic point of view because friends... stuff is just stuff! Stuff doesn't make us who we are. We can follow our creator who gave us life and he didn't give us a bunch of stuff to make us feel fulfilled and happy. He just gave us a mom and dad who loved us.

I challenge all of you who are seriously interested in homesteading to look at your basic living expenses.

  • Food
  • Insurance
  • Gas
  • Phone/Internet

Then, see what is the minimal things you need to live off of while you homestead. If you are planning on living off grid like us you will save money with creating your own natural energy and water. Buy living in travel trailer or other small starter home you may save money that you would normally be spending on mortgage. Just as the pioneers did when they first can to America you will need to be thrifty and preserve your things. Take care of what you own verse buying new. Learn to sow and make your own bread.

Bible and YouTube

We believe that all of us have a pioneering spirit that is still inside us. It just takes time to find and grow it. You can grow this God given gift with watering it with knowledge and wisdom that has been passed down for many generations. We seek wisdom and advice directly from the bible. While we are in the city we seek online mentors from YouTube.

Here is a list of some of our favorite YouTube homesteaders:

OFF GRID with DOUG and STACY live in a tiny house log cabin. They built it over 6 years ago and now is the time to upgrade the flooring... Subscribe to OFF GRID with DOUG & STACY: http://bit.ly/2nrYf24 Thanks to PLANET HARDWOOD for working with us on this project.
A few months ago I built a barn out of cattle panels and pallets to be used as a milking parlor for our future Dexter family milk cow that we never got. I still need to frame the building to support a snow load so I have a place for the winter hay.
