Homesteading Podcast

Season 1 Episode 38

We are starting this new phase of life and looking for land to start a small farm on. We want to find land that we can raise animals on and that will make a good home for us as well!

We left our home state of Arizona and headed north all the way up to North Idaho. We love 💕 it here so far and have been looking for land none stop rain or shine since we arrived.

We know that the weather will be challenging in the winter time but we are preparing our selves for that now. We are planning on building a small home with either a wld burning fire place or a rocket mass heater (which is basically a bigger more sustainable wood burning fireplace with a warm bench to sit on).

How to Start a Small Farm

To start our small  homestead we had to sell everything we owned so that we could buy the land and start building it. That required us moving away from the home that we raise our children and looking for land in a more rural part of the country.

Next, we packet our travel trailer with the essentials we needed to live such as warm clothes, bath towels, food, cookware, blankets, homeschool workbooks and such. After we loaded the trailer up we headed out on the road.

We hope we can inspire you with our story. What ever you dream is you can work towards it! Never give up friend. Whether you dream of having a large garden that can help lower you food cost or you dream of raising chickens and having a cow for milk. Dreams do come true.
