Summer Time Encouragement/Motivation
After people (mostly women who are working at a job somewhere) ask me "Are you working Jackie?" My answer is always "Yes, I work a ton of hours!" They look at me confused because they know that I'm a stay at home homeschooling mom. I just smile at them and wait for it....
Then, they'll say "Oh!? Your working?!" I respond with a sweet "Yes" By now they look even more confused. They'll say something like "So....what are you doing!?!" Now, is my moment to enlighten my dear family and friends the true work of a stay at home mamma of three.
I look at the lovely person I am talking to right in the eyes and explain that I get up at 4 AM each morning just to get a few hours of uninterrupted work time. Then, I list all the additional jobs I preform each day. I am a mamma (most importantly), a home school teacher, a blogger, writer, podcast creator, video creator, gardener, homestead planner, house cleaner, nurse, errand runner, grocery shopper, clothes repairer, foot masseuse for my husband, and a daughter to my earth parents as well as to our Lord and Savior in heaven.
It's easy to say I work because it my heart I know I am doing the best I can for my family, friends, the environment I live in and most importantly to our Father in heaven. I want to challenge all of you to enlighten the next person who asks you "Are you working?". Give them the real answer! Let them know what you do and how you do it! As stay at home mom you should be proud of all that you do because I know you work your heart out to achieve those results.
I would love to hear your stories. Please e-mail them to us here. We will select the best stories to feature as Parent of the Month! Please know that even if your story isn't selected that the work you do for your family and God is so important. I pray that God will bless you all abundantly and that you keep putting your trust in him. My mom recently told me that all we need is the faith of a mustard seed. And just to let you know friends, a mustard seeds is one of the smallest seeds. As always God bless you and your family.
